I have returned from Athens landed two days ago (sorry I had a lot of trouble with my laptop and my browsers are back in commission now) let me tell you, British Airways is certainly one of the best ways to travel! I will post pictures, but I also have some notes (50 pages!) to type up, and a journal....
I had a life changing experience on the last night.
Greater yet was what I can only describe as a blessing from Athena herself, to explain; I had taken a stroll onto the hill housing the Philopappos Monument to best observe the panorama of the floodlit Acropolis, I soon found the warm, creamy light of the Parthenon's aged marble, it banished shadows of the night and I felt a great ease descend over me, I sat down on a marble bench to find a nearby lyrist, chanting Greek folk tunes, the spirits of Hellena, just the music I adore! I let that relax me further yet, I reclined and let my mind drift into the stars above the Parthenon, suddenly, a bright light met my eyes, right before me a meteor hurtling through the atmosphere above Athens streaked accross the night sky and burst to fragments above the Acropolis.
The beauty of this moment I cannot describe in words, nor will I ever forget. I felt millenia unfold in my mind as the ancient astral monolith vanished in an instant, I could feel the very magic of Greece, it was now a part of me. I could only weep into my hands and laugh, fitting to the comedy and tragedy of life, of history and in us all.
History is in us all it needs only be found
